Histories

The Lost History of Calvinism by Harold Hunt: In this study we show the difference between the soul-cheering doctrine of salvation by grace, and the cold, sterile system we know as Calvinism. We also spend some time examining the way faithful children of God have often suffered at the hands of some of the advocates of Calvinism. 205 ppg $16.00

The London Confession and its Place in Baptist History by Harold Hunt: From 1792 till 1832, war raged between the Old School and the New School Baptists. This study traces the roots of that war to the Old School/New School conflict in England in the 1600's. For 1000 years, during the Dark Ages, the old-order Anabaptists maintained the doctrine and identity of the true church. They were never connected with the Roman Catholics, nor with the Protestants, and they were still present in large numbers in England, when the General Baptists and the Particular Baptists were driven out of the Protestant Establishment in 1608 and 1662 respectively. This study traces the London Confession of 1689 to the Particular Baptists of that day. 208 ppg. $16.00

History of the Primitive Baptists of Mississippi by Benjamin Griffin. This is a reprint of an old classic, first published in 1853. Griffin was an eyewitness, and he writes about the conditions and forces that led to the division between the Old School and New School Baptists. His focus is on the conflict in Mississippi, but those events mirror what was going on elsewhere at the time. He wrote in the candid, and not always gentle, manner of the time. 313 ppg. $20.00
